About

Rooted in experience. Open to what’s next.

I’m Dr. Lumar, a mom, educator, coach, and leader who is comfortable leading a room of educators, standing behind a pulpit, or sitting across from someone in a difficult season.

I love spontaneous trips, discovering new places, finding joy in little things and life with Emanuel & Ezra. I’ve learned that we aren’t meant to be defined by one role, achievement, or season, and I’m redefining myself, too. I bring curiosity, candor, warmth, and lived experience to coaching, helping you honor who you’ve been while making room for who you’re becoming.

My Story

The Heartbeat

I grew up on the west side of Cleveland, raised by a single mom in poverty. By most measures, my story could have become another statistic but became something more. In second grade, I experienced equity for the first time when I was given a choice: remain in the bilingual class where students were often categorized as special needs in that era, or join the “regular” classroom, and I’m glad my 7-year-old self chose well, because I was an honors student whose opportunities had been limited by assumptions about my mother’s native tongue.

That moment shaped how I see people: we deserve to be seen beyond the labels placed on us and given room to become. I’ve carried that belief through every season, as an educator, pastor, nonprofit leader, and coach. I’ve lived at the intersection of faith and expansion, learning to hold deep conviction while questioning beliefs and systems. Through it all, I’ve come to believe that making room for people, their stories, questions, dignity, and possibility, is sacred work. That belief is at the heart of Eudora and why I love this work.
